2017 Sangiovese

2017 Sangiovese
Stolpman Vineyard

Sangiovese enjoys warmer weather, so we exclusively sourced the fruit for our 2017 Sangiovese from Ballard Canyon's Stolpman Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley. The grape of Italy's Chianti, there are few regions in the world able to give it justice. Stolpman Vineyard has just the terroir: above ground, warm weather and prolonged sun exposure bring the grapes to full maturity; while underground, ancient limestone adds acidity.

Winemaker Notes
Sangiovese is the main grape in the Chianti wine region in Tuscany and Stolpman Vineyard continues to be an excellent source of this grape. Texturally, the grape produces fragrant, supple wines. Stolpman is ripe, concentrated, and still retains length and suppleness. 15 months in barrel rounds out and melds the components of this wine together.

Antipasto; chopped salads; pasta with red sauce
