Sta. Rita Hills has achieved national acclaim for the region's Pinot Noirs. It's a finicky grape. While warm days and cool nights are essential for Pinot's development, the grape's delicacy is maintained by a daily layer of maritime fog which protects it from frost or penetrating sunlight.
Pinot Noir is very important to Santa Barbara Winery. We have many blocks on varied soils planted at our Lafond Vineyard. Santa Barbara Winery bottles three different Pinot Noirs.

Tasting Notes
The 2020 Reserve Pinot Noir carries the classic aromas of cherry, limestone and oak. Strong raspberry notes surface on the palate, followed by ripe cherry and cedar. This medium-bodied wine is supported by strong tannins and decanting is suggested.

Winemaker Notes
This 2020 Reserve Pinot Noir is composed of 50% clone 777 and 50% Pommard. This is a barrel selection from the most concentrated lots of 2020. Aged for 22 months in barrel, this concentrated dark fruited, spicy Pinot Noir has evolved great complexity.
