2018 Syrah
Santa Ynez Valley
Winemaker Brice McGuire combined the warm and cool climates to create our 2018 Syrah, blending grapes from Joughin Vineyard in Los Olivos with fruit from Lafond Vineyard and Hilltop Ranch in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Joughin provides the jammier notes, while Sta. Rita Hills offers spice. This release features 58.5% Sta. Rita Hills Syrah.

Tasting Notes
The 2018 Syrah is inky purple with aromas of blackberry, dried herbs, and white pepper. A blend of both cool climate and warmer climate grapes, this wine has a deep richness nicely cut by its acidity. Full-bodied, with rich flavors of baked blueberries and ripe plum.

Winemaker Notes
2018 was a cooler vintage than the previous few vintages that were earlier and warmer. We were able to have longer flavor development with hang time into November.
