2018 Lagrein
Joughin Vineyard
91 points & Hidden Gem - Wine Enthusiast
Lagrein, a cool-climate grape from Northern Italy, has found another home in the Santa Ynez Valley. Our Lagrein hails from the Joughin Vineyard in Los Olivos, which is focused on small lots and lesser-known varietals. Lagrein does not typically yield high volume, but 2018 produced a bounty! Winemaker Bruce McGuire maintained prolonged skin contact to achieve this wine's texture and brilliant color.

Tasting Notes
The 2018 Lagrein is a welcome to the senses. Aromas of blackberry, plum, tobacco and mocha mingle together before they cross the palate with depth and balance to finish smoothly. Decanting recommended.
