Grapes for our 2018 Grenache/Syrah were sourced from the Thompson Vineyard in Alisos Canyon, a cool-climate area. In cooler climates, both Grenache and Syrah develop spice in their flavor profiles, and the result is a wine with everything: fruit, body, complexity, ever-evolving. The blend is 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah. Grenache provides the red fruit flavors while Syrah provides dark fruit and depth.

The 2018 Grenache/Syrah leads with aromas of mixed berry, violet and plum sauce. On the palate is a smooth delivery of fruit and backbone with a lingering strawberry/spice finish.

Winemaker Notes
Thompson Vineyard is an excellent red wine vineyard located in Alisos Canyon, north of Los Alamos. Thompson Vineyard is primarily planted to Rhone varietals. The wine is aromatic with bright red fruit and great texture.
