2017 Cabernet Sauvignon

2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
Happy Canyon

Winemaker Bruce McGuire sourced grapes from Happy Canyon for our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon. Happy Canyon is the warmest AVA in Santa Barbara County, and is known for producing quality reds. The magnesium-rich soil works well with Bordeaux varietals, and our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect example. Full-bodied and well-balanced, this wine is a good candidate for aging.

Winemaker Notes
The two Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards (Star Lane & McGinley) in this vintage are located about a mile and a half apart at the top of Happy Canyon. This is the warmest appellation in Santa Barbara County and very well-suited for Bordeaux varieties. Star Lane Vineyard grapes have more structure and density while McGinley Vineyard grapes are more fragrant and supple - resulting in a complete version of Happy Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon.
