Lafond Vineyard

91 points - Wine Enthusiast

Bruce McGuire continues his tradition of fantastic Rieslings coming from the Lafond Vineyard. The 2019 Dry Riesling is composed of 100% Lafond fruit.

Riesling was one of the first grapes to show promise of fine wine in the Santa Ynez Valley. Pierre Lafond planted the first block of Riesling in our Lafond Vineyard in 1972. We currently maintain 15 acres. Riesling is very versatile, and can be produced in many styles. Winemaker Bruce McGuire makes Riesling four different ways at Santa Barbara Winery.

Winemaker Notes
This wine is from 13 year old vines planted to 3 different clones. Strong fruit with firm acidity and a lengthy finish make for a versatile, dry table wine. Riesling has the ability to age better than most other whites.
